Restoring peace and hope in Bosnia-Herzegovina

   We went into Croatia for an SFOR Chaplains Conference.  On the way we say just how cruel the 
Serbs, Croats and Muslims had been to one another.  Homes were utterly destroyed, churches and 
synagogues desecrated, and mosques burned to the ground.  Thousands of men, women and children
were executed on the highways and buried in mass graves.  One of those mass graves was uncovered 
at the site of the 1984 Olympic Ice Hockey Rink in Sarajevo.  Hundreds of bodies were uncovered in
that place.

      On the trip to the Conference, we stopped at a former Soviet MiG base to spend the night.  It seemed 
ironic that our formerly mortal enemies were supplying lodging and security for us. 

      It's hard to believe that in a country with such beautiful landscape, the atrocities could be so 
enormous!
